When Squid Game first came out, I was enamored with the title sequence. Knowing After Effects, I decided to take a stab at remaking it to test my abilities in replicating what I see.
Studying the sequence, I came up with a collection of overlapping trim paths on Illustrator that would animate into 오징어게임.
The Illustrator file was imported into After Effects where I began to animate the trim paths. The final animation can be found on the next slide.
After completing the remake of the sequence, I had the idea to recreate it with a different saying; another test to my abilities, this time to see if I can apply what i learned.
I decided on the phrase 미스 망고 엉덩이, the name of the YouTube channel MissMangoButt. I decided on this as I've been a long time fan and coincidentally she was making a summary video on the series.
Similar to the remake, I started by planning the sequence on Illustrator and then transferred to After Effects.
