Wanting to expand the brand identity of Zona De Cuba, the client contacted Yes Media Agency to help develop GIPHY stickers for their Instagram posting. Yes Media Agency in turn contacted me to take on the project due to my experience in illustration and motion graphics.
The idea was straight forward and open in that the client wanted fun stickers that had a Cuban feel. With that in mind, I developed two looks for stickers, one freehand and one that was more clean and resembled closer to the restaurant's branding.
The client ultimately went for the latter and commissioned for the illustrations to be animated.
The final phase of the project was to animate the illustration so they can be used as stickers on Instagram.
Ideas on how the stickers would be animated were kept in mind when developing the visuals through small notes. After receiving approval for the storyboard by the client the illustrations were imported into After Effects and worked on to be no longer than 3 seconds.
The final animations were handed to the client as GIF files so they can be uploaded on their business GIPHY account.

Apart from this project with Zona De Cuba, I make GIPHY stickers and GIFs occasion as a creative outlet. Currently my stickers have garnered 213.8M views as of 2025 through organic growth without promotion.
